The Nirbhau Foundation works to raise awareness, understanding and improve support, and access to support for anyone affected by baby loss at any stage of pregnancy, miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons and neonatal death. Our aim is to aid in the healing journey through memory boxes to allow parents to honour and cherish their baby’s life with dignity.  

We envisage a world where baby loss is less than 1 in 4 people however unfortunately this isn’t the case. We want to provide first hand support in a timely manner to anyone who is or has suffered baby loss.  

As a charity our objective is to provide a voice and resources for baby loss in order to protect the physical and mental health for anyone personally affected by baby loss. We achieve this through:

• Providing support to bereaved parents and families through social media, counselling and support groups. 
• Providing memory boxes. 
• Collaborating with other charities to raise awareness and promote high-quality bereavement support. 
• Promoting best practice in high quality care during and after baby loss. 
• Signposting families for healthcare and guidance through professionals. 

1. Thoughtfulness - Every memory box we make is hand made and handled with love and care because we know how much it matters.

2. Empowerment - Our aim is to empower individuals to help them find a way to live with and understand the effects of baby loss, to lessen the taboo and to support them with the healing process over time.  

3. Compassion - We offer compassion when families contact us, as we understand that every loss is heart-breaking and unique as not everyone suffers in the same way. 

4. Respect - We understand every families experience is different, so we try to be there for them in whatever way they need us. We respect all boundaries.   

The Nirbhau Foundation officially started in 2024 after a mother and father lost their first baby due to Edwards syndrome. This loss sparked the idea for starting this charity. You can read more about our journey by checking the about us page on this website.

You can use the donate page on this website which will take you to the necessary page to make any donations. We accept bank transfers, payments via the donarbox link or via cheque payment at present. If you ever see us at an event, we can also accept cash donations and we will give you a receipt as proof of payment.
