The Nirbhau Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness, promoting understanding, and improving both the quality of and access to support for anyone affected by baby loss - at any stage of pregnancy, including miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons, or neonatal death. Our mission is to support healing through thoughtfully created memory boxes, helping parents honour and cherish their baby’s life with love and dignity.
We envisage a world where fewer than one in five people experience baby loss. Sadly, this is not yet the reality. Our goal is to offer timely, first-hand support to anyone who is currently going through, or has experienced, the loss of a baby
As a charity, our core mission is to give a voice to those affected by baby loss and to provide the resources needed to protect their physical and mental wellbeing. We work to achieve this by:
1. Offering support to bereaved parents and families through social media, counselling, and support groups.
2. Providing memory boxes to help families honour and remember their babies.
3. Collaborating with other charities to raise awareness and promote high-quality bereavement support.
4. Encouraging best practice in compassionate, high-quality care during and after baby loss.
5. Signposting families to professional healthcare services and guidance.
1. Thoughtfulness - Every memory box we create is handmade with love and care, because we understand how much it truly matters.
2. Empowerment - Our mission is to empower individuals by helping them navigate and understand the impact of baby loss. We aim to break the taboo surrounding this experience and gently support each person through their healing journey over time.
3. Compassion - We approach every family with deep compassion, recognising that every loss is heart-breaking and deeply personal. We know that grief looks different for everyone, and we appreciate those differences.
4. Respect - We respect that every family’s experience is unique. Our role is to be there in whatever way they need us, always honouring their boundaries and wishes.
