All data collected and stored will remain confidential including how we handle and manage your data. The purpose of this privacy notice is to explain what personal data The Nirbhau Foundation collect about you and how we process and share your data.
The Nirbhau Foundation comply with data protection regulation and legislation. This policy confirms your rights and what your obligations are and explains why, how and when we collect your personal data, how we process it as well.
We collect personal details for several reasons including when you are on our website, when you communicate with us via post or email and when you donate to our charity. We have a duty to comply with any data legislation we have when we exercise our rights under an agreement/contract we have with you, whether we carry out any interests which are legitimate or when you the customer have consented to do so in the process. For marketing purposes we will hold your data for 12 months unless you opt out within this timeframe. We may use your information to target specific social media advertising including your email address and name to companies like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This could be in the form of displaying you with specific adverts. Any information we share with these social media companies will be in encrypted format in order to keep the information confidential.
If you do not want us to share information with social media companies for marketing purposes in any way then please contact us via email or post and we will stop this straight away as you have a right to do so. If the social media companies continue to use your information afterwards because of certain characteristics such as where you are based i.e., location then you can contact them directly and ask them to stop.
Your rights
You can request at any time any type of information that we hold on you in the form of a Subject Data Access Request (DSAR). If you think we hold incorrect or inaccurate information about you, please let us know by either email or post and we can correct this for you. You also have the right for your data to be deleted from our records and systems by letting us know by either post or email.
In any circumstances if you request any of the information stated above, we have the right to confirm your identity first before conducting any such a request. If you do not provide your personal information to us and it is required for us to provide a DSAR, we can refuse this request as we need this information before we can proceed.
