1,000,000 step challenge during August

The challenge

During the month of August in 2026, a TNF member will be completing the 1 million step challenge for one whole calendar month. This will average out at approximately 32,258 steps per day… Everyday, for 31 days straight! If the daily target doesn't get met, Jesscan will have to make up the remaining steps in order to complete this difficult challenge. 

Did you know... 

1 million steps roughly equates to around 450-500 miles, which can span the distance from Edinburgh all the way down to London. It also takes on average 150 to 200 hours of total walking time at an average pace to complete 1 million steps. 

The cause

All funds received will be used to buy the contents of each memory box. These memory boxes will then be donated to hospitals and hospices on behalf of The Nirbhau Foundation for free. Memory boxes are an important part of a bereaved parents’ journey as they contain meaningful keepsakes and mementos to help families create lasting memories of their lost loved one. 

Each item provides support in their way, which we believe are important to help families remember and honour their child. They also provide a special place for families to store keepsakes in the years to come.

Fun fact

Jesscan used to weigh over 114kg just over a year ago. He's changed this diet and lifestyle since then and is now a "certified gym bro". This step challenge is not easy at all, because you need to show consistency and put the work in for a long period of time, so better get ready to "step it up". Good luck Jesscan, we know you will smash this!
